PURPOSE AND AIM OF QUALIFICATIONS

The purpose and aim of the City & Guilds Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care are to equip individuals in supervisory or managerial roles within adult care with advanced skills and knowledge. This qualification focuses on enhancing the quality of care provided by covering critical aspects such as health and safety, safeguarding, person-centered care, and staff management. It aims to develop competent professionals who can effectively support and promote the well-being and independence of adults in care settings, thereby improving overall care standards.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Entry Requirements
• City & Guilds does not set entry requirements for these qualifications. However, centers must ensure that learners have the potential and opportunity to gain the qualifications successfully.
• City & Guilds cannot accept any registrations for candidates under 16 as this qualification is not approved for under 16s.

TOTAL QUALIFICATION TIME (TQT)

Total Qualification Time (TQT) is the total amount of time, in hours, expected to be spent by a Learner to achieve a qualification. It includes both guided learning hours 479 and hours spent in preparation, study and assessment. the TQT for this course is 700.

• Understand Personalization in care and support services
• Health and safety in health and social care settings
• Professional practice in health and social care for adults or children and young people
• Safeguard children and young people who are present in the adult social care sector
• Develop, maintain and use records and reports
• Understand safeguarding and protection in health and social care settings

PROGRESSION ROUTES

Learners may progress into employment or to the following City& Guilds qualifications:
• Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Adult Care(England) (3096-51)
This qualification will be the accepted qualification for registration and regulation where appropriate and can demonstrate continuing professional development.
